(The Center Square) – Four Chilean men living in Springfield are accused of carrying out a string of burglaries targeting multimillion-dollar homes, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said Tuesday afternoon.
CNN is reporting the arrests may be tied to the break-in at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Yost did not offer additional information or specifics about the alleged crimes.
Burrow’s home near Cincinnati was broken into in December while the Bengals played the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas.
On Tuesday, a Clark County grand jury indicted Jordan Francisco Sanchez, 22; Alexander Esteban Huaiquil-Chavez, 24; Bastian Alejandro Morales, 23; and Sergio Andres Cabello, 38. Each man faces charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, participating in a criminal gang and possessing criminal tools.
All were arrested and remain in the Clark County Jail.
CNN also reported that, according to an affidavit, an old LSU shirt and Bengals hat were found in the suspects’ black Chevrolet Blazer. The affidavit said the items were believed to be stolen from the Dec. 9 burglary in Hamilton County.
That’s the same day of Burrow’s incident.
Yost created the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force last year to investigate a series of home break-ins in Hamilton County.
Yost said the investigation is ongoing.
