Gas Prices Feel Historic — But They Are Not

(AURN News) — Are Americans paying the highest gas prices in history? Although it may feel like it, the answer is no.

Believe it or not, the highest national average price for gas was $5.02 a gallon in June 2022.

Right now, the national average for a gallon of gas is $4.55. Last month, it was $4.04, and a year ago it was $3.17.

California continues to see the nation’s highest gas prices at $6.14 a gallon.

Georgia is now sitting at $4.00 a gallon with some of the lowest prices in the country. Arkansas is at $4.10, Texas is seeing $4.03, and Mississippi is at $4.01 a gallon.
