Georgia race to succeed Marjorie Taylor Greene attracts 22

(The Center Square) – Seventeen Republicans, three Democrats, one Libertarian and one independent qualified for the U.S House seat formerly held by Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

The March 10 special election will put all candidates on the ballot. Georgia law requires candidates to receive 50% of the vote plus one to avoid a runoff. If needed, the runoff is April 7.

The Republican candidates are Star Black, Beau Brown, James Marty Brown, Regan Box, Jared Craig, Eric Cunningham, Clay Fuller, Larry Hilley, Christian Michael Hurt, Thomas Jonathan, Jackson Gray, Nicky Lama, state Sen. Colton Moore, Brian Stover, Meg Strickland, Jim Tully and Jennifer Jay Turnipseed.

The Democrats are Jim Davis, Shawn Harris and Jonathan Hobbs. Andrew Underwood is running as a Libertarian. Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski qualified as an independent.

Green said she will not endorse a candidate.
