Problem gambling awareness

Illinois Lottery is partnering with the Illinois Council on Problem Gambling as part of Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

The agency said in a news release that it will bring attention to problem gambling prevention and treatment, and different recovery options available across the state.

Anyone who is struggling with a gambling problem is encouraged to call 1-800-GAMBLER, a 24-hour service that provides counseling and other support.

Biotech hub announces cash match

Innovate Illinois has announced $680 million in combined cash matches from public and private partners for the Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing Tech Hub.

The facility was designated as one of 31 Economic Development Administration Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs nationally and recently applied for grants that would propel regional growth in technology. The project supports a wide range of applications in biomanufacturing, from novel ingredients to sustainable material.

Outdoor tourism campaign

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Office of Tourism has announced its new outdoor video series featuring stories from Illinois adventurers spotlighting the range of outdoor recreation and activities available throughout the state.

The series of videos titled, “Real People. Real Stories, Real Outdoors“ aims to capture genuine experiences of Illinois residents and visitors exploring the outdoors, while highlighting the state’s outdoor adventures.
