Man arrested after courthouse threat

A 20-year-old man is under arrest after Decatur police said he made a telephone threat toward the Macon County Courthouse.

Police said the courthouse received a phone call from someone claiming they were going to “shoot up” the courthouse and specifically target police officers. The Macon County Sheriff’s Office with help from the regional dispatch center was able to locate the suspected caller and arrest him.

IDOT hosting conference

The Illinois Department of Transportation is hosting the 33rd “Today’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Reward” conference on Feb. 21 and 22 at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.

Conference topics include work category expansion, funding, training opportunities and construction safety. Industry leaders and IDOT staff also will be leading sessions on how to bid on, participate in and deliver projects.

Tax refunds in four weeks

Illinoisans who file their taxes electronically and error-free should not have to worry about any delays in getting a refund. An official with the Illinois Department of Revenue said refunds will be direct-deposited into accounts in approximately four weeks.

To find out the status of a refund after the Illinois Department of Revenue finished processing it, you can go to the Illinois Comptroller’s website and click on “Find Your Illinois Tax Refund System.”
