Illinois quick hits: Lead exposure awareness; ‘Stormy Daniels’ to do comedy in Riverton

Lead exposure awareness

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reminding Illinoisans to be aware of the ongoing potential for health risks from lead exposure.

As part of the observance, Gov. J.B. Pritzker recently issued a proclamation encouraging greater public awareness of the dangers of exposure to lead. In the proclamation, the governor noted that the main source of lead exposure in the state remains lead-contaminated dust and lead-based paint found in homes constructed prior to 1978, the year that such paint was banned for use in Illinois.

Youth deer hunting totals

Youth hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 4,057 deer during the youth deer hunting season Oct. 12-14. Last year, youth hunters took over 4,500 deer during the season.

The top three counties for deer harvest were Randolph, Pike and Adams counties. Youth hunters with an unfilled, valid youth deer permit may still hunt with the permit during the upcoming first firearm deer season Nov. 22-24.

‘Stormy Daniels’ to do comedy in Riverton

Former adult film star Stormy Daniels is scheduled to headline two comedy shows in central Illinois.

The shows will be at the Backroom Lounge in Riverton on Nov. 11. The 6 p.m. show sold out, so the venue added another show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $100.

In May, Donald Trump was criminally convicted of covering up a hush-money deal with Daniels.
