More migrants arrive to Chicago
At least three busloads of migrants arrived in Chicago from Texas Wednesday and more are expected.
Dozens of migrants, including adults and several children, were received by officials with the Office of Emergency Management and Communications as the city government works to find housing for the new arrivals.
As of this week, more than 500 migrants are still waiting to be placed in a shelter.
Man admits to supporting ISIS
An Illinois man admitted in federal court this week that he trafficked fentanyl and other drugs and attempted to provide material support to the ISIS terrorist group.
Jason Brown of Lombard pleaded guilty to charges after he provided $500 to an individual with the understanding that the money would be wired to an ISIS soldier engaged in terrorist activity in Syria. Brown further admitted that in 2019 he trafficked fentanyl from California to the Chicago suburbs.
Bears eying parking lot for new stadium
The Chicago Bears are reportedly considering a lot near their current stadium as a possible location for a new stadium complex. The South Lot currently serves as a parking lot and tailgating area.
The team signed a purchase agreement for the Arlington Park property in 2021 and has since demolished the structure. The Bears have played their home games at Soldier Field since 1971 and remain under contract with the Chicago Park District until 2033.
