During a Zoom meeting with other NAACP leaders, Teresa Haley said the immigrants are raping people, breaking into homes and are like savages. The video was shared by the DuPage County NAACP president, who resigned in protest. Haley initially denied making the remarks and suggested the video was fake, possibly created using AI technology.
Online cellphone sales lead to armed robberies
Chicago Police say several people who have tried buying cell phones through social media have ended up being robbed at gunpoint in recent weeks. In at least one of these incidents, the victim was chased by the suspects after the robbery. Police are reminding residents to be cautious when meeting with strangers and anyone with information to come forward.

A new study shows that Illinoisans like to spoil their pooches. According to a Forbes Advisor study, Illinois is ranked 7th in the country for states where pet owners most spoil their dogs. The company used 10 metrics from a nationwide survey of dog owners. According to the study, 22% of Illinoisans have spent more money on Christmas gifts for their dog than on gifts for their family and friends.
