Pritzker declares disaster after flooding

A state disaster proclamation has been declared for Boone, Cook, Kane, McHenry and Will counties after severe storms caused flooding and extensive damage last month.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued the proclamation Monday.

The move ensures state resources can be directed to support local response and recovery efforts and help determine if the disaster qualifies for federal assistance.
