According to the Biden administration, hubs based in Chicago and Champaign-Urbana were among 31 projects that will receive funding through the program. One of the Illinois-based hubs, the Central Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing hub, will be located at the University of Illinois, where they will identify practices that will help improve food security.

For the next two weeks, forecasters will rely on radars from surrounding areas to detect any warnings, including in Chicago, the Quad Cities, Evansville and the Metro East.
