Wife charged in judge’s murder

Murder charges have been filed in the killing of a judge in southern Illinois.

According to the Edwards County coroner, 41-year-old Michael Valentine was shot in his Albion home Nov. 5. His wife, Megan Valentine, was officially charged with murder Thursday.

Illinois State Police said they are continuing to investigate the case.

Drug conspiracy indictment

A federal grand jury in Chicago has indicted a high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel on a drug conspiracy charge for allegedly manufacturing cocaine, fentanyl and other drugs in Mexico and importing them into the United States.

According to an indictment returned Monday in the Northern District of Illinois, Canobbio Inzunza, 44, is charged with drug conspiracy. Inzunza is believed to be residing in Mexico and a U.S. warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Six Flags closings

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the parent company of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, has released its first quarterly earnings report since merging with Cedar Fair, and the report suggests that Six Flags will at least consider closing some of its 42 amusement or water parks as part of its long-term business plan.

The company has finally begun the demolition of Six Flags New Orleans, which has sat vacant for nearly 20 years after being inundated by floodwaters from Hurricane Katrina.
