Judge Strikes Down Trump Immigration Policy

(AURN News) — A judge has struck down a Trump administration immigration policy that has been making it significantly harder for immigrants from dozens of countries to enter and remain in the U.S.

Now, the ruling affected asylum applications, work permits, green cards and citizenship — the full pipeline of legal immigration.

The judge didn’t mince words, saying that the new policy threw countless lives into what he called indeterminate legal limbo and accused U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of flatly ignoring the law.

Nearly one in 10 Black Americans are immigrants.

The Trump administration had already paused visa processing for 75 countries, most of them on the African continent, with no timeline for resumption.

Somali communities in Minnesota and Maine were targeted by aggressive ICE operations earlier this year.

Haitians are still fighting in the Supreme Court to keep their Temporary Protected Status.

Today’s ruling is a legal win.

Advocates are warning it’s one ruling in a much larger war.
