(The Center Square) – Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s handling of criminal prosecutions will be in the national spotlight Tuesday.
The Republican-controlled U.S. House Judiciary Committee plans a “Victims of Violent Crime in Chicago” hearing at the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police hall. The Center Square will live webcast the hearing beginning at 9 .am. Tuesday.
An announcement of the hearing says the panel of congressional members and experts will look into how Foxx’s “pro-crime and anti-victim policies are leading to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for Chicago residents.”
Panelists include Gianno Caldwell, family member of a murder victim, Lt. John Garrido III, a retired detective with the Chicago Police Department, and Carlos Yanez, Jr., a retired officer with CPD.
