MAGA Activist Charlie Kirk Killed at Utah Valley University Event

This story has been updated to include reporting from multiple major news outlets of Kirk’s death.


Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck while speaking at his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University, sending students scrambling as the campus went into lockdown.

Police took a male suspect into custody. Kirk was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to multiple major outlets including The New York Times, BBC, and ABC News.

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, calling Kirk “a great guy from top to bottom” and asking Americans to pray. Vice President JD Vance, echoing those words, described him as a “young father.”

Former Vice President Kamala Harris also condemned the shooting, saying, “I’m deeply disturbed by the shooting in Utah. Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family.”

Kirk’s death has drawn bipartisan condemnation and marks a stunning act of violence at a political event.
