Montana unemployment steady at 2.5%

(The Center Square) – Montana’s unemployment rate was 2.5% last month, compared to the national unemployment rate of 3.8%.

That mark’s the 22nd consecutive month that Montana’s unemployment rate has been under 3%, according to Gov. Greg Gianforte’s office.

“Despite national headwinds of inflation, Montanans continue to work hard to earn a living, own or rent a home, raise their family, and achieve the American dream,” Gianforte said in a press release.

According to the governor’s office, over 8,600 jobs have been added so far this year.

“We’ll continue to advance our pro-jobs, pro-family, pro-business policies to drive our economy forward and help Montanans prosper,” Gianforte added.
