(AURN News) — More Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction, with a new AP-NORC poll showing 75% of adults believe the United States is off track, up from 62% in June.
Republican views shifted significantly. In June, only 29% of Republicans said the country was headed the wrong way. That figure now stands at 51%.
On the economy, 62% of Americans disapprove of how President Donald Trump is handling the issue. A similar share — 63% — disapprove of his approach to trade. Border security received more support, with 55% approving of the president’s handling of immigration at the southern border.
The poll was conducted Sept. 11-15, just days after the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
