Rep. Kelly Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against Secretary Noem

WASHINGTON (AURN News) – On Wednesday, Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., held a news conference announcing articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

“So I will be impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Secretary Noem has violated the Constitution, and she needs to be held accountable for terrorizing our communities. Operation Midway Blitz has torn apart the Chicagoland area. President Trump declared war on Chicago and brought violence and destruction,” Kelly said.

The resolution outlines three articles of impeachment. The first alleges obstruction of Congress, accusing Noem of defying federal law by blocking members of Congress from entering ICE detention facilities. The second alleges a violation of public trust, citing widespread warrantless arrests. The third alleges self-dealing, claiming Noem bypassed federal contracting rules under a declared emergency.

Many observers describe the resolution as largely symbolic. Even with the backing of about 70 Democrats, it would fail in the Senate.
