(The Center Square) – Wisconsin saw seven of its 12 metropolitan areas go up 0.1 percentage point in November unemployment over October while one area rose 0.2 percentage point and four remained unchanged.
This comes after the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2.9%, below the 4.2% national average.
The unemployment rate went down or was the same in 11 of the 12 metropolitan areas year over year.
The numbers were similar for the state’s 35 largest cities, with 16 seeing rates drop or stay the same over the month while 27 saw rates drop or remain the same over the year.
Wisconsin saw the unemployment rate rise in 60 of its 72 counties in November while rates decreased or stayed the same over the year in 63 counties.
Madison (2.0%), DePere (2.1%), Muskego (2.1%) and Sun Prairie (2.1%) have the lowest current unemployment rates in the state among the state’s largest 35 cities.
