Slotkin campaign has outraised Democratic opponents in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race

Democrat Elissa Slotkin has raised the most money in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Michigan, taking in $11.68 million since the start of the campaign cycle.

Slotkin raised $2.83 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. Hill Harper has raised the next most in the primary, with $1.32 million since the start of the campaign and $303,185 in quarter four. In the fourth quarter alone, Nasser Beydoun raised more than Harper but less than Slotkin with $457,424.

The primary will take place Aug. 6. Six candidates, including those who have dropped out, raised a combined $13.74 million through Dec. 31. Looking at all 125 congressional battlegrounds we are tracking, this is more than the average of $3.41 million.

Four candidates raised a combined $101.25 million running for U.S. Senate in Michigan in 2020, while 10 raised $35.99 million in 2018.

Looking at the top two fundraisers in quarter four — Slotkin and Beydoun:

7,940 donors donated to Slotkin’s campaign last quarter.Of those 7,940, the largest share, 2,274 (29%), donated between $100 and $499.451 donors donated to Beydoun’s campaign last quarter. Of those 451, the largest share, 197 (44%), donated between $100 and $499.

The next reporting deadline for congressional candidates is April 15, 2024. Those reports will cover the period of Jan. 1 to March 31, 2024. To learn more about this race, click below.
