Tulsa, OK— The Women of Color Expo is coming back to Tulsa!!!
Women of Color from across Northeast Oklahoma and beyond will descend in Tulsa, Oklahoma to celebrate excellence. The 8th annual Women of Color Expo will take place Saturday, August 31st at the Osage Casino in Tulsa from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
The admission to attend the WOC Expo Tulsa is Free to attend. Now in its 8th year they are expecting to bring thousands of women to the expo, ranking it among one of the most anticipated and largest events celebrating women of color in Tulsa.
This event is organized and produced by Perry Publishing & Broadcasting with the intent to unifying women of color of various ages, backgrounds and to strengthen bonds within the Tulsa community. The Women of Color Expo Tulsa will feature a host of entrepreneurs and companies offering goods and services to expo attendees.
The Expo features a day full of free workshops and seminars focusing on wellness, health, finances, family and entrepreneurship. Another one of the biggest events during the expo is the Fashion Show that will take place at 4:00pm.
The Women of Color Expo signature event is the awards luncheon that honors women who are regarded as cornerstones of the community and highlight the resilience and unique magnanimity women of color offer daily in their various roles as businesswomen, educators, managers, community leaders, mothers, sisters, and daughters respectively.
Among the honorees are Woman of the Year Dr. Ebony Johnson, Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, Lifetime Achievement Recipient Wanda J. Armstrong owner of Wanda J’s Restaurant, Corporate Woman of the Year Sydni Sayles, Director of Marketing and Events for Build in Tulsa, Entrepreneur of the Year LaDonna Norman, owner of Integrity Tax Services, Hair Stylist of the Year Ambre Jamerson owner of Braids by Byrd; Educator of the Year Tara Henderson, Principal at Unity Learning Academy, Public Servant of the Year Angelia Barnett of Crossover Health Clinic, Impact Woman of the Year recipients Lauren Corbitt, Executive Director of Tulsa Juneteenth Festival and Stacey South-Corner, Director of Admissions and Recruitment for CAP Tulsa,
The keynote speaker for the awards luncheon is national recording artist and Hollywood actor Mr. Christopher Williams who is known for his hit music singles, “I’m Dreamin” and “Promises, Promises”, and as an actor in the movie, “New Jack City”. The awards luncheon will start at 11:00am and is the only event that attendees must pay to enter at the Expo.This will be hosted by KJMM FM 105 K-Jamz and KGTO FM/AM Heart and Soul 99.1 & 1050 radio stations personalities Ali Shaw and Belle So Pretty.
