Trump promises to halt border crisis if re-elected

Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump said he would close the southern border and warned about criminals illegally entering the U.S during the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention on Thursday.

After accepting the GOP nomination, Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s policies on a number of fronts, but with a particular emphasis on the border crisis.

Trump said he would ramp up border security efforts, including finishing the border wall he started building in his first term.

Trump pledged that he would end the immigration crisis if he is re-elected.

“We have to stop the invasion into our country that’s killing hundreds of thousands every year,” Trump said.

More than 12 million foreign nationals have illegally crossed the border since Biden first took office, including more than 2 million gotaways, those who illegally enter betweem=n ports of entry and evade capture, The Center Square first reported.

Trump cited the “secure border” that he said the country had under his administration.

“Today, our cities are flooded with illegal aliens,” Trump said.

Trump pledged to make border security a renewed priority.

“The invasion in our southern border, we must stop it and stop it quickly,” he said.

Trump called the border crisis “an invasion,” saying that illegal immigrants are “plundering” the nation, adding that he wasn’t opposed to accepting migrants if it was done legally.

Trump pledged to enact a major deportation plan if he is re-elected in November.
