(AURN News) — President Donald Trump used a fast-food delivery at the White House to highlight his “No Tax on Tips” policy, offering a $100 tip to a delivery driver as he made his case.
“So the ‘No Tax on Tips’ is something special, right?” Trump asked the delivery driver.
“It’s very special,” the driver responded.
The delivery — a McDonald’s order brought by a DoorDash driver — unfolded inside the Oval Office, where Trump handed her the tip while highlighting the policy.
The moment comes just days before the tax filing deadline as the administration pushes its broader tax package. The policy allows up to $25,000 in tipped income to be exempt from federal taxes for workers earning less than $150,000 a year.
The moment shifted, however, as reporters pressed the president on Iran, where the U.S. has launched a naval blockade following failed negotiations.
Trump confirmed the operation began early in the day, aimed at cutting off Iran’s oil exports and forcing a deal over its nuclear program. He warned that if Iran does not agree, the situation would escalate.
