Nearly 6,800 foreign students — who make up more than a quarter of Harvard’s student body — now face a choice: transfer immediately or risk deportation.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accuses Harvard of failing to report students allegedly involved in campus protests and is demanding full surveillance records within 72 hours to lift the sanctions.
Harvard President Alan Garber says the move is unlawful retaliation designed to silence dissent, warning that it damages not only the university, but the entire nation.
