Trump Warns ‘A Whole Civilization Will Die Tonight’ in Social Media Post

(AURN News) — President Donald Trump warned in a Truth Social post that “a whole civilization will die tonight” as he presses Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz ahead of a looming deadline.

In the post, Trump wrote, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” He tied the warning to a deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern for Iran to act. He also threatened the destruction of bridges and power plants across the country.

The rhetoric is also being matched by action. U.S. airstrikes hit two bridges and a train station in Iran. American forces also struck Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil hub, for a second time.

In response, Iranian officials have urged young people to form human chains around power plants to shield them from attack. Iran’s president also said 14 million people have volunteered to fight in the event of a ground invasion.

Trump has moved this deadline before. It was first set on March 21 and extended twice since. In several hours, it will become clear whether he follows through on the threat or extends the deadline again.
