Tyler Lepley to Deliver Keynote Speech at Women of Color Expo Awards Luncheon OKC

Oklahoma City is abuzz with anticipation as the 2024 Women of Color Expo OKC approaches, set to be a celebration of diversity, empowerment, and community. As part of the festivities, Oklahoma City Community College and Tinker Federal Credit Union are thrilled to announce Tyler Lepley as the keynote speaker for the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 13th.

Tyler Lepley, an accomplished American actor renowned for his role as Benjamin “Benny” Young on the Tyler Perry-produced primetime soap opera “The Haves and the Have Nots,” brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the Women of Color Expo. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lepley’s journey to stardom is as remarkable as it is inspiring.

Growing up in Philadelphia, Lepley faced the challenges of being biracial, but his resilience and determination propelled him forward. Despite facing teasing as a child for being biracial, Lepley excelled in sports, particularly football, earning accolades throughout high school and college. He attended Kutztown University on a football scholarship, where he pursued a degree in criminal justice before embarking on his acting career.

Lepley’s acting journey began in Los Angeles, where he was discovered at a boxing gym and landed his first lead role in the independent horror movie “Slumber Party Slaughter.” From there, he made his television debut on The CW’s “90210” before ultimately landing the role of Benny on “The Haves and the Have Nots.” His talent and dedication have since led to roles in various films and television shows, including the lead role in the made-for-television film “Ringside” and a series regular role in the Starz drama “P-Valley.”
