WATCH: Illinois In Focus Daily | Tuesday Aug. 5th, 2025

(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Editor Greg Bishop continues coverage of the ongoing debate about state’s political boundaries with Illinois hosting Texas Democrats avoiding votes on new maps for The Lone Star State. Illinois Congressmen Mike Quigley and Darin LaHood shared their thoughts at an unrelated event in Chicago Monday.

Bishop also reviews some of the 124 bills Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed Friday. Among them are measures increasing the pension benefits for Chicago first responders and regulating artificial intelligence.
