WATCH: Will a $2B carbon tax raise utility bills? It’s likely, says PUC

(The Center Square) – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission agree that numbers from the Independent Fiscal Office show that carbon tax programs will raise utility bills for residents.

Programs, like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and PACER, have been described as carbon taxes for Pennsylvania energy producers and are vehemently opposed by legislative Republicans.

Democrats, including Gov. Josh Shapiro, say that achieving climate action goals while growing Pennsylvania’s energy sector should also limit carbon emissions.
