(The Center Square) – Wisconsin’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.9% in October, below the national rate of 4.1%.

The state also broke September’s record for the numbers of people employed in the state, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

There were 3,068,000 employed in the state in October, with the labor force increasing 8,400 over the month and 7,300 over the year.

“We are building an economy in Wisconsin that more people are a part of by supporting veterans, training and accommodating people with disabilities, investing in daycare and transportation options, and offering job placement help and training to anyone who wants career advancement,” DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said in a statement.

The state’s labor force participation rate increased to 65.7%, above the nationwide 62.6%.

The state had 3,043,800 nonfarm jobs for the month, up 1,400 over the month and 27,400 over the year.
