Pritzker continues reelection launch tour
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has two more events scheduled as he wraps up a campaign tour announcing his bid for a third term.
The governor is scheduled to visit Belleville and West Frankfort Friday.
Pritzker stopped in Rockford, Peoria and Springfield Thursday after launching his campaign in Chicago.
GOP floor leader seeking reelection
The Illinois House Republican floor leader has announced that he will seek reelection.
State Rep. Patrick Windhorst of Metropolis has served in the Statehouse since 2019.
Earlier this week, Franklin County Treasurer Steve Vercellino announced plans to challenge Windhorst in the GOP primary.
Mortgages jump nearly 65%
A new report estimates that the average Illinois mortgage payment has jumped 64.7% in the last three years.
According to Construction Coverage, prospective homebuyers today face an estimated mortgage payment of $1,399 per month, compared to $850 in 2022.
Illinois has experienced the 14th-largest estimated mortgage payment increase over the last three years.
