In-person voting, drop boxes available for Colorado’s March presidential primary

(The Center Square) – Colorado voters can cast their ballot for the presidential primary today at voting centers throughout the state and drop boxes will be available on Tuesday, according to Democrat Secretary of State Jena Griswold.

Griswold also advised voters planning to return their ballot through the U.S. Postal Service should mail it by today to ensure it’s received by the voter’s county election official by election day on March 5.

“Today is the last suggested day to return your ballot by mail,” Griswold said in a statement. “Starting tomorrow please return your ballot to a voting center, drop box or vote in person. Eligible Coloradans can still register to vote.”

Coloradans eligible to vote can register at govotecolroado.gov through Tuesday to receive a ballot in the mail. Voters also can updated their registration through the website. After Tuesday, citizens can still register to vote, receive a ballot and vote in person at one of 153 voting centers until 7 p.m. on election day. Voters also can find the closest of 418 drop boxes and voting centers at the website.

Voters can still cast their ballot in person on election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must submit their ballot or be in line to vote by 7 p.m. for their ballot to be counted.

Colorado voters can sign up to track their ballot from when it’s sent to them to when it’s counted by using BallotTrax, an online system providing a series of alerts notifying voters of the stages of the process.

Ballots cast by overseas voters or military members must sent their ballot no later than 7 p.m. on March 5 and received by the close of business by March 14, the eighth day after the election.
