WASHINGTON, DC (July 23, 2024) — From July 24-27, Oklahoma Future Caucus member, Representative Ajay Pittman (D), will attend Future Summit, a conference for the country’s most promising, eective young lawmakers, hosted by Future Caucus. Her selection is the result of her ability to work with colleagues across the aisle and achieve legislative results through collaborative leadership.

Future Summit, now in its eighth year, is the premiere opportunity for young lawmakers from both parties to connect with their peers from across the country, discover future-oriented policy solutions to bring back to their states, workshop creative legislative approaches to shared challenges, meet policy experts in key issues of the day, and explore new strategies to build coalitions and win bipartisan policy victories.

Rep. Ajay Pittman will also be featured on a panel with other state lawmakers discussing the role of bipartisan governing alongside partisan campaigning. “It’s my honor to answer the call to participate as a guest panelist at the Future Summit Conference this year,” said Rep. Ajay Pittman, co-chair of the Oklahoma Future Caucus. “It is our time to make a dierence in our communities, and this great work is done through collaboration. Sometimes partisanship impedes the progress.”

In an era of hyperpartisanship, the Oklahoma Future Caucus connects young and innovative legislators from both sides of the aisle to break through partisan gridlock and find common-sense policy solutions for the issues that matter most to the next generation and the future of our democracy. Representatives Daniel Pae (R) and Pittman (D) serve as the co-chairs for Oklahoma.

“Despite common misconceptions about the partisanship of rising generations, the data tells a dierent story: Gen Zers and millennials consistently work across the aisle more than their older peers, authoring 40% of bipartisan bills signed into law across the country. Future Summit provides these rising lawmakers with the tools and skills they need to continue this trend,” said Layla Zaidane, President & CEO of Future Caucus.
