Thanedar campaign has outraised Democratic opponents in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District

Democrat ncumbent Shri Thanedar has raised the most money in the Democratic primary for Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, taking in $2.70 million since the start of the campaign cycle.

Thanedar raised $2.41 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. Adam Hollier has raised the next most in the primary, with $443,638 since the start of the campaign. This fundraising is from the fourth quarter.

The primary will take place Aug. 6. Four candidates raised a combined $3.23 million through Dec. 31. Looking at all 125 congressional battlegrounds Ballotpedia is tracking, this is less than the average of $3.41 million.

In battlegrounds with incumbents running, Thanedar raised more than the average of $1.41 million. At this point in the 2022 election cycle, Thanedar raised $5.01 million, $2.30 million more than his current $2.70 million.

Nineteen candidates raised a combined $12.57 million running in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District in 2022, while nine raised $5.08 million in 2020.

Looking at Thanedar and Hollier alone:

206 donors donated to Thanedar’s campaign last quarter.Of those 206, the largest share, 102 (50%), donated over $1,000.443 donors donated to Hollier’s campaign last quarter. Of those 443, the largest share, 180 (41%), donated between $100 and $499.
