(The Center Square) – Wednesday is the deadline to register to vote by mail or online in Wisconsin.
Voters can still register at a municipal clerk’s office until 5 p.m. on Nov. 1 or register at a polling place on election day, Nov. 5.
Voters must be registered before requesting an absentee ballot for any reason.
The state has more than 3.5 million voters as of Oct. 1, up 120,000 active registered voters from the March 1 numbers.
That includes more than 1 million voters ages 65 and over, 903,129 who are between 50 and 64, 807,236 who are ages 35 to 49, 492,963 who are 25 to 34 and 292,331 who are 18 to 24.
Milwaukee County has 507,247 voters, Dane County has 390,346, Waukesha County has 285,820, Brown County has 153,696, Outagamie County has 115,085 and Racine County has 112,055 registered voters.
