Pope Is Named To New Position

Set to Become Vice President of Alabama School

Dr. Myron Pope has been named vice president of student life at the University of Alabama.

Previously a vice president at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond and now vice

president of strategic engagement at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services,

Dr. Pope described his new job as a “dream position.” The University of Alabama is Dr. Pope’s alma mater.

“This position will not only allow me opportunities to give back to students at my alma mater,” Dr. Pope said, “but will also allow me to be home to be close to my aging family members.”

“During the last few months, I have been able to work with the finest group of professionals in state government,” he commented.

“They provide the highest degree of service to the citizens of the state and I have been delighted to work side-by-side with

them.” Dr. Pope will begin his new job in April.
