Self-care, defined by Oxford, is the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.
As we head into the weekend, we want to encourage you to think of all of the ways that you can prioritize yourself by taking an active role in your growth and happiness at the 15th Annual Women of Power Summit hosted by ADP Mar. 5–8 at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
Women of Power presents unique opportunities for women to slow down, see themselves, and celebrate the essence of who they are—beyond the work that they do in the workplace.
This year, the level of intentionality around promoting health and wellness is higher than it has ever been.
Oftentimes, ambitious women feel the pressure of choosing between their career and what fulfills them personally. To help them ‘Waze that maze,’ Jodi Patterson, author, social activist, and entrepreneur and Mara Brock Akil, showrunner and television creator/ director will be taking center stage to talk about health, wealth, and how to keep building, broadening, and believing in yourself, no matter what life (or your career) throws at you.
Black women also experience unique challenges from the moment that they walk out of the home to the moment they walk through the doors of their office.
Microaggressions and burnout are real… During the summit, attendees will be able to get tips and tools from executives who have successfully overcome the most common and unique hurdles that we face in business. Unchecked, they can do more than damage, they often derail us.
All of that factors into how women show up.
A woman’s posture, walk, smile, smirk, punctuality, and choice of clothes can communicate volumes before she speaks. And many women aren’t aware of whether the message they’re sending is helpful or a hindrance.
For those very reasons, body language expert Linda Clemons will be joining us in Vegas for the second year in a row.
The facilitated session will help women self-assess, self-monitor, and self-correct so that they can project their best-selves, consistently.
Last year, the body language boot camp had standing room only—so, we’ve added an additional session this time around!
We’ve curated countless moments and experience at Women of Power to promote health and wholeness—and we hope that you can join us as we power up in Vegas!
