Shooting reported outside Donald Trump golf club while he was leaving

(The Center Square) – Shots were fired outside Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach, Fla., golf club Sunday as the former president was leaving, according to reports.

The U.S. Secret Service responded, but the Republican nominee for president was not the target, The New York Post reported.

Two individuals shot at each other in a known high crime area near the club, the Post reported.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said, according to the Post.

Sunday’s shooting occurred two months after Trump was the target of an attempted assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa.
