Georgia hearing on Trump case taken off Dec. 5 calendar

(The Center Square) – Oral arguments in a Georgia case involving District Attorney Fani Willis’ eligibility to prosecute President-elect Donald Trump, will not be held as scheduled Dec. 5.

The Georgia Court of Appeals did not give a reason for the change.

Willis is accused of a conflict of interest, stemming from a romantic relationship with her appointed special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Willis admitted to having a relationship with him during a hearing earlier this year.

Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee allowed Willis to remain on the case if Wade resigned, which he did.

The case was filed by Trump and his co-defendants in a criminal case accusing them of alleged interference with the 2020 presidential election. Trump was indicted on 18 counts.

Two of the charges against Trump were dismissed in September. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
