Bossier City Council to revisit budget, new business on Tuesday

(The Center Square) – The Bossier City Council’s Tuesday agenda is packed with new business items as officials continue to discuss the newly proposed 2026 budget.

The budget had a few adjustments before the council previously met on Oct. 7 to discuss the changes with Chief Administrative Officer Amanda Nottingham. Of the new business items, 28 pertain to the budget.

Public hearings and final readings are scheduled to determine a $100,000 appropriation from the Hotel Motel Tax Fund for professional marketing services and to transfer $13.3 million from the 2018 LCDA Bond Fund to other capital funds. Projects from the LCDA bond would transfer too. The 2025 Streets and Drainage Fund budget could also be potentially increased by $300,000 for unplanned projects.

New business items concerning funding include authorizing the sale of property to Delta Airline Drive, LLC for $295,000. According to the ordinance, Delta Airline Drive, LLC would use the property for a retail business that would create jobs for Bossier.

An ordinance sponsored by Chris Smith and Mayor Tommy Chandler aims to limit financial contributions from city funds to nongovernmental organizations. According to the limits laid out, this includes charitable, civic, cultural and educational organizations, to ensure transparency.
