North Carolina lawmakers postpone meetings, votes for the week

(The Center Square) – North Carolina lawmakers are on pause for the remainder of the week, with all meetings postponed and no votes to be taken.

General Assembly leaders made the move in respect to House Speaker Tim Moore, R-Cleveland, whose father died on Monday. A funeral for Rick Moore, 75, is Wednesday afternoon in Kings Mountain.

Condolences were shared by many, including Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper and Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
