Roundup of Candidate Connection surveys from Ballotpedia

North Carolina is holding primary elections, including for state executive offices, on March 5.

A number of candidates running in these elections completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Below is a selection of responses from the candidates who filled out the survey as of Nov. 20. To read each candidate’s full responses, click his or her name at the bottom of the article.

Braxton Winston II, a Democrat serving as an at-large member of the Charlotte City Council, is running for North Carolina Commissioner of Labor. Here’s how Winston responded to the question: What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

“…I will support North Carolina’s working families and businesses by ensuring that all workers go to work in a safe environment; fighting for all people to be paid fairly under North Carolina labor laws; making it a priority that our workforce is fully staffed to uphold public safety; closing the digital divide and training our next workforce; defending workers rights wherever they find work; taking a ‘whole worker’ approach.”

Seth Woodall, a Republican, is running for lieutenant governor. Here’s how Woodall responded to the question: What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

“Seth is passionate about: law and order, education, election integrity and the economy.”

North Carolina candidates, including incumbents, can click here to take the survey. The survey contains over 30 questions, and you can choose the ones you feel will best represent your views to voters. If you complete the survey, a box with your answers will display on your Ballotpedia profile. Your responses will also populate the information that appears in our mobile app, My Vote Ballotpedia.
