Stores fined in 12 counties for price scanning errors

(The Center Square) – Fourteen stores in 12 North Carolina counties are on the hook for fines because of price scanning errors.

The incidents happened in the final quarter of 2024 and were spread between the Piedmont and the Coastal Plains, a state release says. The infractions were discovered in Wake, Scotland, Forsyth, Lee, Hyde, Union, Mecklenburg, Alamance, Camden, Columbus, Gaston and Surry counties.

The stores, with locations, were Advance Auto Parts, 7201-100 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh; Advance Auto Parts, 1216 S. Main St. in Laurinburg; Circle K, 1400 Union Cross Road in Kernersville; Dollar General, 2650 Lee Ave. in Sanford; Dollar General, 34230 U.S. 264 in Engelhard; Family Dollar, 1425 Waughtown St. in Winston-Salem; Family Dollar, 7907 Idlewild Road in Indian Trail; Family Dollar, 4005 Sunset Road in Charlotte; Family Dollar, 2206 W.
