(The Center Square) – Information into the industries, occupations and demographics of those seeking unemployment insurance assistance can be tracked with a new data dashboard hosted by the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
Individual privacy is maintained, the department says.
The Commerce Department, in a release, says the information can be supportive in recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. Those qualifying for Disaster Unemployment Assistance, in the 39 declared counties, will be represented in the dashboard data.
The dashboard is also expected to help lawmakers and stakeholders.
The platform is the product of the Labor & Economic Analysis Division and the Division of Employment Security within the Commerce Department. Those two go by acronyms of LEAD and DES.
The dashboard provides information on each of 100 counties, and the 20 regions as defined by Workforce Development.
