(The Center Square) – Bristol Motor Speedway will welcome a Major League Baseball game between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds next year, according to a report from The Athletic.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee’s schedule showed he has a scheduled 11 a.m. Friday press conference at the speedway and The Athletic reports MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith will be at the announcement.
Bristol held a college football game in 2016 between Tennessee and Virginia Tech that included a record crowd of 156,900.
The Braves are scheduled to play host to the Reds in a four-game series from May 5-8 and a three-game series at Cincinnati Aug. 1-3.
