Marijuana home delivery to begin in Arizona

(The Center Square) – Arizonans can now have marijuana brought to their doorstep.

The Arizona Department of Health Services announced the change will go into effect on Friday.

According to the DHS, the determination for rules regarding adult-use marijuana for recreational purposes had to be figured out after the state legalized it during the 2020 election. The “Yes” won with over 60%, or roughly 2 million votes.

“[State law] requires the Department to adopt rules to permit and regulate delivery by marijuana establishments to consumers no later than January 1, 2025,” the department’s website states, indicating that the change is ahead of schedule, according to the Phoenix New Times.

As for medicinal marijuana, it was legalized in 2010 as the result of Proposition 203 – but it only passed with just over 50% of the vote at the time. Like alcohol, purchase of recreational is for only those 21 and up, whereas medical is 18 years old with some workarounds. Companies like Supurb are expected to have delivery in the Grand Canyon State for adult use, according to its website.
