St. John Hosts Fall Revival

You are cordially invited to join the St. John Missionary Baptist Church Family for their Annual Fall Revival! The revival dates for this year are Sunday, October 22nd @ 10:45am and then Monday, October 23rd through Wednesday, October 25th. Services will begin at 7:00 PM nightly. 

The guest evangelist will be Rev. F. D. Sampson. Reverend Franklin Delano Sampson, Sr. was born January 31st. He is fourth son of Reverend and Mrs. Harry Burney Sampson, Sr. in Houston, Texas. He attended the schools in the Houston independent school district, and graduated from Kashmere Gardens Junior-Senior High School. He attended The University of Houston and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. His post graduate studies were done at Prairie View A & M University in counseling and guidance. F. D. Sampson was licensed in 1967. He was ordained in 1969 and in 1972, became the 5th Pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and served until his retirement from pastoral ministry in 2017, concluding 45 years of service as a pastor. Reverend Sampson served as past Moderator of Unity Missionary Baptist General Association of Texas, Inc., past Vice President of The Baptist Ministers Association of Houston, past Chairman of the Ministers Conference of The Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, past Chairman of The Commission on Orthodoxy of The National Baptist Convention of America, past President of Trinity/Houston Gardens Super Neighborhood, and past President of Trinity Gardens Integral Forces, Incorporated. He is presently the Treasurer of The National Baptist Convention of America International, Incorporated and President of Visions of Faith Ministries, Incorporated. Reverend F. D. Sampson is a member of the NAACP. He is a Master Mason and is a Grand Inspector General of the 33rd degree. Reverend Sampson has received honorary doctorate degrees from Mount Hope Bible College and Saint Thomas Christian University. He appears in the fourth edition of the Marquis Who’s Who in Religion. Reverend F. D. Sampson, Sr. is married to Mrs. Fannie Marie Iles Sampson. He is the father of one daughter, De Anza Michelle Sampson, and two sons, Franklin Delano Sampson, Jr. and Frederick Dwayne Sampson. 

St. John is blessed to have guest churches and their choirs with us Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday night of the revival. Guest churches are Wildwood Baptist, New Zion Baptist, Voice of Praise and Emmanuel Baptist Church. Also, Bro Rudie with the Social Services Ministry will be serving a meal on Monday and Tuesday evening starting at 6pm.
