Bill Filed For Luper Museum

State Sen. George E. Young Sr. has filed a bill that would appropriate $625,000 in state funds for the planned Clara Luper Civil Rights Center.

A bill filed by State Sen. George E. Young Sr. (Dem., Oklahoma City) will appropriate state funds for the planned Clara Luper Civil Rights Center.

The center is part of the MAPS 4 initiative approved by Oklahoma City voters last year.

State Sen. Young’s bill would appropriate additional funds to help with the costs of the museum.

State Senate Bill 1383 would direct the Oklahoma Historical Society to appropriate $625,000 for develop plans and other pre-construction costs related to the museum.
