The Match IV odds, predictions: Proven golf expert reveals picks for Mickelson, Brady vs. DeChambeau, Rodgers

Coming off his historic 2021 PGA Championship victory in May, Phil Mickelson and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady team up to take on Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers in the next edition of Capital One’s The Match. The Match IV will be held at the Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana. The course sits 7,500 feet above sea level and has a ton of elevation changes. It even features a monstrous 777-yard par-5, which is the fourth longest hole in the United States.

The Match 4 will feature match play between the Mickelson-Brady team and the DeChambeau-Rodgers team. The teams will use a modified alternate-shot match-play scoring system over 18 holes. The DeChambeau-Rodgers pairing is listed as the -175 favorite (risk $175 to win $100) according to the latest The Match IV odds from William Hill Sportsbook, while Mickelson-Brady are listed as +138 underdogs. Before locking in any Match 4 bets, be sure to see The Match IV picks and predictions from SportsLine’s proven golf expert, Mike McClure.

McClure, a DFS professional, knows golf inside and out. His proprietary golf model has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed last June. In fact, it’s up over $8,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 U.S. Open, McClure’s model was all over Jon Rahm’s first career major championship victory at 10-1 from the start. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner. And at the 2021 Masters, McClure nailed Rahm’s (+250) top-five finish in his best bets, as well as Corey Conners’ (+550) top-10 showing. McClure’s best bets netted over $450 at the Masters.

In addition, McClure was all over Mickelson and Barkley against Curry and Manning as +145 underdogs in the Match III. This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, with The Match 4 set to tee off on Tuesday afternoon, McClure has scoured the odds and locked in his top picks and prop bets. Head to SportsLine now to see McClure’s best bets for The Match IV.

The Match IV top picks, predictions

McClure is expecting DeChambeau to record the longest drive on Hole 1 at -250 odds. DeChambeau’s swing speed has dramatically increased in recent years. In fact, DeChabmeau’s average swing speed was 118.37 mph in 2019. In 2020, his swing speed baseline was up to 125 mph. Thus far in 2021, DeChambeau’s averaging over 130 mph swing speed, which has paid major dividends to his length off the tee.

The eight-time PGA Tour champion is averaging 321.9 yards per drive this season, which ranks first on tour. For reference, DeChambeau averaged just 302.5 yards per drive in 2019, which ranked 34th.

He recorded a drive of 414 yards at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January, and with the elevation changes at the Reserve at Moonlight Basin, DeChambeau’s ball should easily carry Mickelson’s, who’s averaging 301.8 yards per drive in 2020-21.
