(The Center Square) – Major Chase Wilhelm, a Litchfield, Illinois, native, was awarded the Purple Heart and other accommodations Monday at the Illinois Governor’s Mansion in Springfield.
Wilhelm saved lives after a drone attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan earlier this year that killed three U.S. soldiers and injured many others.
