Harris to campaign in Las Vegas next week

(The Center Square) – Vice President Kamala Harris plans to return to Las Vegas next week, and she is reportedly not coming alone.

Local news outlets report that Harris is bringing her running mate.

“Vice President Harris and her future running mate will crisscross the country together to campaign to the voters who will decide this election, including a stop in Las Vegas,” the Harris campaign told KSNV.

Harris has been mum about her potential running mate, narrowing it down to a handful of Democrats nationwide. On Friday, a leaked video from a Pennsylvania mayor hinted that there is a plan to tap Gov. Josh Shapiro.

This would not be the first time Harris paid a visit to Nevada.

As reported by The Center Square, the Vice President turned presumptive Democratic Party nominee has been to the state more than a dozen times since entering office.

Previous visits from Harris to Nevada include January meetings with union members in Las Vegas, a speech at Mojave High School in March, and a post-presidential debate rally in Las Vegas on June 28th.

Nevada is a battleground state in the 2024 election, and while a Morning Consult poll this week found Harris leading in the Silver State, Republicans have stated that “Nevada is Trump-Vance country.”

“Make no mistake, the affordability crisis that Kamala Harris has created is destroying the middle class,” Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance told a crowd in Reno on July 30th.
