Retired Executive, Once President of Bank, Dead
Wilbert Johnson, 89, the retired business executive, who once served as president of the American State Bank, and was a real estate agent and a bail bondsman, died on Oct. 27.
A visitation period will be held from 3p.m unitl 7 p.m. on Friday Nov. 6, at Temple& Sons Funeral Directors, 2801 N. Kelley Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 7 at Temple & Sons.
Rev Larry D. Foster Sr., pastor of Progressive Baptost Church, will officiate. Interment will be held at Trice Hill Cemetery. He was born on Aug 30, 1931, in Opelouasa, La., to Vincent and Viola Johnson. Mr Johnson is survived by three daughters:Melaine Bradford, Patricia Allen and Brenda Hopkins.
In addition, he is survived by four sisters: Leonia Marshall, Beradine Joubert, Emily Rogers, and Patricia Cassimere. Three brothers ( Wilton Johnson, Vincent Johnson, and Lloyd Johnson) are survivors, too. Other survivors are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
